Ways To Train Yourself to Breathe through the Mouth.
These exercises won't be easy the first time you try them, but they are effective in the long run. For this exercise to be a habit, you must do them at least 40 days, which is one month 10 days. According to science that's how long it takes to develop a habit in our life.
Try to close the mouth.
At all cost, you need to break this habit. Try closing your mouth before taking a different approach. Do the following: Try staying with your head pressed back a little and breathe through the nose. Your brain will begin to pick up this new routine in your life, when you condition it to breathe in that pattern.
Clear the nose.
Perhaps the main reason why you have trouble breathing is because your nose is congested. There so many ways to decongest a clogged or blocked nostril. All you need is to try an exercise program called " Buteyko". This program corrects many breathing problems. It is known for helping establish a breathing problem. It is the most effective and free mouth breathing treatment.
How you can practice Buteyko.
- • With your mouth closed a seated position, breathe through the nose 2 to 3 minutes. Then breathe in and press close your nose with your fingers.
- • Hold your breathing as long until you feel like you can't hold it anymore. Then slowly release the air out of your nostril. While doing this exercise, keep your mouth closed.
Sleep and Head Position.
Sometimes, the reason why people have a mouth breathing problem is because of poor sleep position.
Elevated your head above the rest of your body. Use a pillow to give your head and the body the right sleeping position. A good head position prevents acids and intestinal fluids from invading your throats.
Sleeping on your back, forces you to breathe heavily and it becomes impossible for you to breathe through the nose. Try sleeping on the sideways.
Establish a good exercise routine. A routine that you can do every day. You don't have to spend one hour in a workout. You can start with 20 to 30 minutes workout every day. The best exercise for mouth breathers are Yoga and Cardio exercises. These two exercises improve your breathing patterns and restore it to normal.
